The Environmental Engineer is responsible to improve air and water pollution control, recycling, waste disposal and public health in line with approved national and international norms and standards. He / She also is required to address global issues, such as environmental sustainability and climate change. The position holder is responsible to develop technically sound solutions to environmental problems, ensure compliance with environmental policies, optimize resources utilization, and improve the quality of internal and surrounding environment.



Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review environmental regulations and determine whether they are being applied properly.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing environmental programs to reduce environmental damages.
  • Gather and analyze emissions data from a range of sources through site assessments, analyzers raw readings, system reports and third-party reports.
  • Follow up on daily production to ensure that air emissions are among the allowed limits as per national and company thresholds.
  • Liaise closely with Raw Material and Kiln production units to ensure the process is smooth and no exceedances in the air emissions will occur due to production issues.
  • Review and maintain water quality management systems to comply with water permits and water regulations.
  • Control the plant water system and data collection and coordinate with maintenance and production to make sure the system is working properly and continuously.
  • Responsible for emissions, water and waste data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
  •  Prepare needed documentation, schedule required testing, and provide any necessary, additional follow-up documentation regarding environmental issues.
  • create plans to protect and restore the environment by removing contaminants from water, air, and land.
  •  Conduct research and technical audits on environmental impact of projects, analyze data and perform quality control checks.
  • Document and maintain plans, requirement, protocols, permits and standard operating procedures.
  • Report environmental incidents to HSE manager, such as internal spills, external releases, potential permit non-compliances, and upcoming regulatory inspections
  • Keep updated about new environmental related technologies and propose ways to integrate into available systems

  • Creative thinker Education and Experience: Must have a masters’ degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from a reputable university. Minimum 5 years of experience in air pollution control.
